South Korea Alarmed! AliExpress & Temu Children’s Products Contain Carcinogens 700X Over the Limit

Chinese e-commerce platforms such as AliExpress and Pinduoduo’s overseas version Temu have seized a large market share overseas with a low-price strategy. However, cheap goods pose significant safety hazards. Especially, the quality problems of children’s products have attracted widespread attention from the international community.
According to the “Korea Times” reported on April 8th, the Chinese e-commerce platform AliExpress has a very high market share in South Korea. The Seoul Metropolitan Government recently inspected 31 children’s and household items and found that 8 of them contained excessive amounts of toxic substances. Among them, a children’s leather bag contained four kinds of phthalates, exceeding the standard by 55.6 times. One of the phthalates, diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), is even classified as a carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer.
