China really does make everything… and that includes a massive, fast-growing adult product industry most people never think about. But behind the jokes is a much darker story.
From dominating global production to building increasingly “smart” devices, China’s role in this industry raises serious questions about privacy, security, and safety. Some of these products can collect highly sensitive data. Others have been caught with shocking vulnerabilities—leaking user info, getting hacked, or worse.
And thanks to weak regulations, many of these products are making their way into the US and other markets with little oversight on materials or safety standards.
