The Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday announced that it would postpone a scheduled vote to confirm President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Department of Justice, Todd Blanche.
A day before the critical Senate Judiciary Committee was set to vote on confirming Blanche for attorney general, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) on July 29 said he would be withholding his support.
Cornyn canceled a meeting with Blanche scheduled for Wednesday and told reporters that he was “not prepared” to vote for Blanche.
Without support from all Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee, including Cornyn, Blanche’s nomination would be poised to fail….
