Train services reduced on Hong Kong’s East Rail line because of signalling system faults

Services between Admiralty and Lok Ma Chau on Hong Kong’s East Rail line have been reduced to 15 minutes per train from 5.30pm because of signalling system faults.

The MTR Corporation also said the service between Admiralty and Tai Po Market would run every four minutes and between Admiralty and Lo Wu every four to eight minutes on Wednesday.

Some trains will travel via the Racecourse station because of the horse racing on Wednesday evening.

“After a review, maintenance personnel will adjust the signalling system component near Sheung Shui station after traffic hours end tonight to complete recovery works,” the rail giant said.

“Longer waiting time on East Rail line platforms can be expected. Please allow more time to travel … We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
