Kazakhstan has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hong Kong’s transport authorities to establish a laboratory and discussed low-altitude economy initiatives to help manage traffic jams.
Bakhtiyar Mukhametkaliyev, Kazakhstan’s vice-minister of artificial intelligence and digital development, told the South China Morning Post on Wednesday about discussions with the team of Hong Kong’s Secretary for Transport and Logistics Mable Chan on the sidelines of the Belt and Road Summit in the city.
“In Hong Kong, I signed the memorandum agreement about launching the … laboratory with the [Transport and Logistics Bureau] of Hong Kong,” Mukhametkaliyev said.
“We discussed the low-altitude economy … we tried to exchange knowledge about the management of traffic jams.”
He noted that Hong Kong was actively implementing low-altitude economy initiatives, such as drone deliveries.
Mukhametkaliyev added that Kazakhstan aimed to connect mainland Chinese technology companies with Hong Kong financial tools.
