During this year’s five-day May Day holiday, the streets of popular tourist cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, and Changsha were bustling with people. Despite the heavy crowds, many visitors did not engage in shopping, resulting in numerous restaurants experiencing high foot traffic but low customer turnout.
