In Shanxi Province’s Datong City, Yanggao County, a similar incident has recently come to light, but the underlying reasons appear even more intriguing.
It has been revealed that, in order to create the illusion of a vibrant economy, the local government has been artificially inflating entrepreneurship indicators. From August 2023 to February this year, over 200 enterprises were registered in the entire town. One village secretary alone processed more than twenty business licenses, while other officials opened six companies within six months.
