The latest data from Nepal’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority showed that as of August 30, the massive flash flood that struck on August 26 had killed 675 people and left 2,498 missing. The casualty figures were still rising. The agency also issued a warning that a river near the China border continued to rise, and that a glacial lake outburst could still occur, potentially triggering another flash flood.
