A father and his two daughters were killed after an Immigration Department truck collided with a car and veered into four pedestrians at a road junction in Malaysia’s capital on Wednesday.
The victims, a 53-year-old man and his daughters, aged 25 and 12, died at the scene along Jalan Sultan Ismail at about 1am, Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said, as reported by Sinar Harian.
The man’s 55-year-old wife, who was also struck, suffered injuries to her head, right hand and both legs. She was taken to the red zone of Kuala Lumpur Hospital for further treatment.
Police said the empty Immigration Department truck had been travelling from Kuala Lumpur Immigration Office towards Chow Kit to pick up detainees following an operation in the area.

Initial investigations found that the truck, driven by a 43-year-old man, was believed to have entered the road junction while the traffic light in its direction was red, with its beacon lights and siren activated, Mohd Zamzuri said.
