PHOENIX—Incumbent Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs will face Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) in Arizona’s gubernatorial election this fall.
Biggs, who has served in the U.S. House since 2017, won the Republican primary in a landslide on July 21, defeating three other long-shot Republican candidates.
The Associated Press called the race around 11:03 p.m ET.
Hobbs, a former social worker who served as a state legislator and as Arizona secretary of state, ran unopposed in the Democratic primary.
The Cook Political Report predicted that voters in Arizona may lean Democrat in the general election this fall, which could help Hobbs grab her second term as governor in the purple state….
