Homeowners of a fire-hit Hong Kong estate who waited months for an extraordinary general meeting have urgent questions regarding compensation and the state of their flats, although the agenda excluded a crucial building examination report.
Hop On Management Company, the government-appointed administrator of Wang Fuk Court, arranged the meeting with flat owners on Sunday to discuss items including reports on the progress of the handover from the former incorporated owners and the latest situation with Wang Chi House.
The building was the only one of the eight towers spared in the blaze that killed 168 people last November.
The meeting is being held via live broadcast at community centres in Tai Po, Tin Shui Wai, Kai Tak and Wah Kwai.
Toby Wong, a Wang Tai House resident in his thirties attending the meeting at the Tai Po Community Centre, said that he was disappointed to find some agenda items proposed by residents had been excluded even after six months of waiting for the meeting to be convened.
