It had the signature black, red, and green sign, a Japanese-style curtain at the entrance, and rows of small booths separated by partitions. At first glance, you’d think it was in Fukuoka’s Tenjin area or a small street in Shinjuku. But look closely—it’s in Beijing. The name? “Today Ichiran” ramen. People who visited said the décor and even the menu were almost identical to the real Japanese stores.
