Recently, Nidec, a Fortune 500 company with a 30-year presence in Dongguan, announced that its Chang’an Factory, the company’s first facility in China, will cease production and operations entirely on May 30, 2026. The factory is currently in the process of preparing for closure. The company attributed the shutdown to “severe operational challenges resulting from ongoing external factors, making it impossible to return to its original production scale.”
