The Comac C919 Narrow-body twinjet airliner was originally a source of pride for the Chinese Communist Party leader, Xi Jinping. It was claimed that there were over a thousand orders for the C919. However, by the first quarter of this year, only three aircraft were delivered. The C919’s engine and instrument systems are foreign-made, and aviation experts suspect that about 90% of the aircraft’s core systems are imported. Chinese netizens were astonished to find out that the “domestic” airplane is actually just a shell made in China!
