House Weighs Next Steps After Senate Passes Bill to End Most of DHS Shutdown

The House is considering whether to proceed with a bill to fund most of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), excluding immigration enforcement operations, after the Senate passed the measure in the early hours of Friday.
This comes amid a 42-day shutdown that has resulted in long Transportation and Security Administration (TSA) lines at airports nationwide.
Many TSA agents have quit or reported sick.
How the House will move forward is to be determined, said House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.).

“We’re going to have some meetings this morning and figure out what the will is like,” he told reporters.
The conservative House Freedom Caucus is opposed to the bill….
