Minh Tu Drops Name From Case, Nguyễn Ngọc Như Quỳnh Continues

On December 17th, the attorneys for Minh Tu’s case against Tran Thi Hoa dropped Minh Tu’s name from the case per Tu’s request.  FIA has obtained this request as show here:

Who Was the Money Really For And Where Did It Go?

When this case was first being developed the whole idea was justice for Minh Tu.  Nguyễn Ngọc Như Quỳnh was just a side note.  Quỳnh used her platform as a rallying cry to the people to help raise money so a case could be brought against Daniel Tran on behalf of Minh Tu.  Donations quickly flooded into Quỳnh and she established a “Trust Fund” for the collection and disbursement of funds. More than $80,000.00 was collected. When analyzing the payments, some things don’t quite add up.  For example, it appears that Kevin Fine who was helping Quỳnh with the case, collected over $30,000.00, including payments for $21,200.00 and $11,437.50 for his services as seen an the following receipts:

What’s more, is that Kevin Fine was brought on to this case to assist in “translating” YouTube videos. According to the original case filing, it references 5 YouTube videos on February 10th 2023, March 16th 2023, March 30th 2023, at or around March 30th 2023 (2nd reference), and April 7th, 2023. That equals about $6,000.00 per video translation.  If this is the case, I am truly in the wrong business. We also know for a fact that Quỳnh and Keven were more than just friends (and we have the text messages to prove it) but will refrain from showing them here.   Although we have no direct evidence of “foul play”, the optics are not good and screams a conflict of interest with this case.

Why Nguyễn Ngọc Như Quỳnh is continuing the case...

That is the million dollar question (literally).  The original case filing is seeking damages of  1 million ($1,000,000.00) U.S dollars, and with 1 of 2 plaintiffs dropping from the case, it substantially raises the validity of this case.  Regardless, Quỳnh and her attorneys must think they have a very good chance of prevailing otherwise they would have totally dismissed the case.  Without Tu as a coroborating witness, much of the case lacks “merit” as Tu cannot be compelled to testify as a witness unless subpeonaed, and even then the U.S. cannot subpoena a non-U.S. citizen living in another country.  Here lies the problem.  Quỳnh’s attorneys obviously do not watch her channel.  The number of times she has defamed and slandered people on her own channel since this case was filed are numerous, and “captured” by other users. This causes an instant credibility issue with Quỳnh.  While this case continues, both Daniel and Quỳnh will be forced to give depositions.  This is a procedure by which attorney’s for each side questions the parties involved in the case.  In other words Daniel’s lawyers get to interview Quỳnh, and Quỳnh’s attorneys get to interview Daniel.  When Daniel’s lawyers ask Quỳnh if she has ever defamed anyone on her channel how is she going respond?

Now Just A Big Waste of Money and Time

This case has dragged on for over 2 years and the only person (s)who looks to benefit are the lawyers (as is usually the case).  It’s not like Quỳnh’s channel has ever made a million dollars or had hundreds of thousands of subscribers.  So the question is – “What is Quỳnh’s End Game?”.  Tu was seeking an apology from Daniel Tran (which Daniel did).  Before the case was filed, we all met for lunch in San Francisco including myself, Tracy, Tammy, Lawyer Lan and others.  At the conclusion of lunch I volunteered to drive Quỳnh  to the airport. During that drive I told Quỳnh she could have a huge channel.  She told me directly that she didn’t want a large channel and was not interested in growing it.  So again the question becomes; what is her end game?  There was a point in time that myself, Tracy, Tammy, Lawyer Lan, and many others were behind Quỳnh because it was always about justice for Tu.  Quỳnh’s position today looks more like a homeless person digging through a trash can for anything that might be valuable.  The problem with that is that all that digging costs money.  The question now is with Tu out of the picture, who is funding the case for Quỳnh?  She is basically riding the coat tails of the people who donated for Tu for her own gain.  And for anyone who doesn’t think it’s for her gain only I leave you with one last picture  Quỳnh posted on her channel.
