Trump Sending 300 California National Guardsmen to Oregon

President Donald Trump is sending 300 members of the California National Guard to Oregon after a judge temporarily blocked him from deploying the Beaver State’s guard to Portland, the administration announced on Oct. 5.
White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson confirmed that the National Guard had been deployed to Oregon, saying, “President Trump exercised his lawful authority to protect federal assets and personnel in Portland following violent riots and attacks on law enforcement.”
California Gov. Gavin Newsom vowed to fight the move in court.
The White House on Oct. 5 did not immediately confirm the deployment after Newsom announced the move by the administration. The California National Guard referred questions to the Department of War. A War Department spokesperson declined to comment….
