US Would Help With Ukraine’s Security, Trump Says in Talks With Zelenskyy, European Leaders

WASHINGTON—U.S. President Donald Trump welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and seven European leaders to the White House on Aug. 18 to explore paths to end Russia’s war with Ukraine.
During the meeting, Trump said the United States would help provide security guarantees to Ukraine after the war to prevent future aggression.
“I had a very good meeting with distinguished guests,” Trump wrote on Truth Social after the meeting.
“During the meeting we discussed Security Guarantees for Ukraine, which Guarantees would be provided by the various European Countries, with a coordination with the United States of America. Everyone is very happy about the possibility of PEACE for Russia/Ukraine.”…
