Taiwan’s Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics announced on May 29 that the preliminary GDP growth for the first quarter of this year reached 14.55%. This growth exceeded earlier estimates. It also set a new single-quarter record in nearly 48 years. The full-year economic growth forecast was revised upward to 9.64%. This marks the best performance in 16 years.
