According to the Financial Times, U.S. Navy SEAL Team Six is intensifying training related to Taiwan, potentially conducting decapitation operations in the event of a U.S.-China conflict. Retired U.S. Air Force Colonel John Venable has even suggested the permanent deployment of U.S. troops along Taiwan’s coast, crossing the Taiwan Strait’s median line, and potentially stationing nuclear weapons in Taiwan. As a former U.S. defense attaché to Israel, Venable’s remarks likely reflect some considerations within the U.S. government.
