Ps Wedding & Event Decoration’s suspected shutdown came to light on Wednesday when its office was found to be closed, its social media pages had been shut down, and the contact person was no longer reachable by customers.
John Tsoi, a 27-year-old teacher due to get married in December, was among the 200 victims who joined a chatgroup to exchange information, as of 5 pm.
Tsoi and his fiancee came across the company last December at a wedding fair held at the hotel where their banquet is booked.
“I was told the company was a long-term partner of the hotel and had a good reputation, so we chose them and paid around HK$13,000 – a 50 per cent deposit – and they only took cash or FPS [fast payment system],” he said.

“Now we are scrambling to find a substitute but it’s quite challenging because December is a popular month for weddings, and time is running out for us.”
Established in 2012, the company offered five decoration packages, ranging from HK$7,688 to HK$18,588. These packages typically included decorations for a backdrop, reception area, registration table, cake table, easel stand, and flower pillars.
