Authorities said on Wednesday that Lee, who previously served with the Hospital Authority’s senior management, would take over the new role after Tony Ko Pat-sing stepped down when his term ends on July 31.
Lee, who will leave her current post on July 14, has been appointed to serve as the authority’s chief executive for three years.
Cecilia Fan Yuen-man, currently a consultant in family medicine at the Department of Health, will succeed Lee as the new undersecretary for health on the same day and work alongside health minister Lo Chung-mau.
Fan, 57, had worked in the department for more than 30 years.

Authority chairman Henry Fan Hung-ling, whose term was initially set to end in late November, has been reappointed to stay on for another year.
Lee previously worked with the authority, which oversees the city’s public hospitals, before leaving in 2022 to join the Health Bureau.
