On June 10, 2026, the U.S. Coast Guard intercepted a vessel south of Miami carrying 25 individuals who identified themselves as Chinese citizens. The vessel repeatedly ignored orders to stop and accelerated in an attempt to flee. After warnings proved ineffective, law enforcement officers opened fire, forcing the boat to halt. Despite the use of firearms, no injuries were reported during the incident.
