President Donald Trump said Wednesday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should continue using traffic stops as a key enforcement tool, defending the practice after a string of deadly encounters involving immigration officers, including a recent fatal shooting in Maine of a Colombian illegal immigrant.
In a post on Truth Social on July 15, Trump praised ICE agents and urged the agency to continue conducting vehicle stops, which officials have been reviewing following recent incidents in Maine, Texas, and Florida.
