WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump announced on Sept. 5 that the United States will host the 2026 Group of 20 (G20) summit in Miami, which coincides with the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Calling it “a very exciting thing,” Trump confirmed that the gathering will take place at the Trump National Doral Golf Club in December 2026.
“I think that everybody wants it there because it’s right next to the airport,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “It’s the best location. We will not make any money on it.”
Standing alongside the president, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez called the summit a “tremendous” opportunity for the city’s economy, highlighting the benefits for hospitality workers, small business owners, and the city’s global image….
