WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump announced on Friday that the United States will host next year’s Group of 20 (G20) summit in Miami, coinciding with the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Calling it “a very exciting thing,” Trump confirmed that the gathering will take place at the Trump National Doral golf resort in December 2026.
“I think that everybody wants it there because it’s right next to the airport. It’s the best location,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “We will not make any money on it.”
Standing alongside the president, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez called the summit a “tremendous” opportunity for the city’s economy, highlighting the benefits for hospitality workers, small business owners, and the city’s global image….
