The Post’s video team in Hong Kong wins 2 major international awards

The Post’s editorial video team has won two major international awards presented by a US visual arts academy.

The SCMP film Rainbow’s End: Where’s home for Manila’s Golden Gays won gold for best general video – diversity, equity and inclusion at the W3 Awards, presented by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts in the United States.

The 23-minute short documentary by supervising video producer Jayson Albano shows how a group of elderly LGBTQ men living in the Philippine capital perform drag shows to raise funds to build a retirement home, where they can live out their golden years.

Meanwhile, the second season of the food and culture travel series Eat Drink Asia won a silver award for best video series – food and drink, for the second consecutive year.

The episode of Eat Drink Asia focusing on the Kingdom of Bhutan was also named national winner for best lifestyle programme at the prestigious Asian Academy Creative Awards. It will go on to compete for the coveted grand prize, to be announced at a gala in Singapore on December 4.
