On July 1, 2024, Ecuador officially suspended its visa waiver for Chinese nationals. Over the past few years, as more and more Chinese entered the country, Ecuadorian authorities found that about 50% of those who entered the country failed to leave “through the normal channels” or within the 90 days allowed by the visa waiver agreement.
