Swiss man in Thailand may lose visa after his dogs allegedly attacked beachgoers

A Swiss man living in Thailand is facing the potential revocation of his visa after his dogs allegedly attacked residents and tourists on numerous occasions, according to Thai media reports.

Local officials in Bang Saphan District, a coastal area in central Thailand’s Prachuap Khiri Khan province, held a community meeting on Sunday to address concerns about the Swiss man, whose dogs have reportedly attacked beachgoers while roaming the area without leashes or restraints.

At the meeting’s conclusion, attendees urged police to gather evidence of the alleged attacks before proceeding with an administrative prosecution against the Swiss national.

Authorities have referred the case to the immigration bureau for possible visa revocation, according to local newspaper Khaosod.

The meeting, chaired by the district’s deputy security chief, was held after Rolf Weber, a 76-year-old Swiss tourist, was bitten by dogs belonging to his fellow Swiss national, identified only as Mathias, on Friday.

Weber said it was the second time he had been attacked by one of Mathias’ dogs. The first incident occurred in August 2024, when another canine bit him, he said.
