According to Google Maps, the section of Granville Road outside the Hong Kong Science Museum is sealed off.

Pictures taken at the site show an object looking like a gun barrel, covered in mud. Seven explosive disposal officers were deployed to the scene.

According to preliminary investigations, the object may be a cannon barrel, but police have yet to confirm.

“The site is not blocked off yet because it is believed there is nothing potentially destructive,” a source said.
