Singaporean Mandopop star JJ Lin to grace Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Sports Park

Singaporean singer-songwriter JJ Lin is set to be the first Mandopop artist to perform at the newly-opened Kai Tak Sports Park, with tickets for the May shows priced at up to HK$1,680 (US$216).

The concerts, announced on Sunday as a part of Lin’s ongoing world tour, will take place at the 50,000-seat Kai Tak Stadium on May 24 and 25 at 8pm. Ticket prices start at HK$380, with a public sale opening at noon on March 20.

Lin is the latest addition to the line-up of stars set to perform at the stadium.

British rock band Coldplay will perform there on April 8, 9, 11 and 12, before Cantopop star Nicholas Tse Ting-fung takes the stage between April 24 and 26.

Taiwan’s “King of Mandopop” Jay Chou is also set to hold three concerts at the venue from June 27 to 29.

Kai Tak Sports Park, which opened on Saturday evening with a star-studded gala ceremony, stands at the heart of the city’s bid to consolidate its standing as a host for major international sports and cultural events.
