On the morning of August 26, a massive mudslide struck the China-Nepal border area. The sudden disaster not only destroyed villages, but also damaged roads, bridges, multiple hydropower facilities, and other infrastructure. It also swept away the Gyirong Port in Tibet. The port’s buildings and parking lot were instantly engulfed by mud and waves dozens of feet high, and the entire facility is expected to be almost completely destroyed.
