Shenzhen Chaos: Protests Paralyze City, Million-Vendor Clash Sparks Nationwide Unrest

On the evening of July 5th, a large-scale protest broke out in the Buji Street area of Longgang District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. Hundreds of street vendors, in response to violent law enforcement by city management officers, gathered to block roads in protest. The scene drew thousands of onlookers, causing a stop in traffic.
According to several eyewitnesses on the social media platform X, multiple female vendors were forcefully pushed during a cleanup operation. Some were shoved and even struck with batons, resulting in injuries. This sparked significant public outrage. A large number of vendors quickly gathered to show their support, surrounding Buji Street. The protest lasted for several hours, and tensions in the area escalated.
