WASHINGTON—Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on Dec. 9 wrote a letter to Federal Bureau of Investigations Director Christopher Wray asking him to step down.
The 11-page letter accuses Wray and Deputy Director Paul Abbate of mismanagement and “failure to take control of the FBI.”
“These failures are serious enough and their pattern widespread enough to have shattered my confidence in your leadership and the confidence and hope many others in Congress placed in you,” Grassley wrote.
The senator’s letter repeatedly cites alleged neglect by the FBI to follow up on his requests for information about a wide range of concerns, including the FBI’s handling of sexual harassment claims made by female employees….
