Peter Lee’s family office signs Kazakhstan deal on green energy projects

The family office of Henderson Land Development co-chairman and managing director Peter Lee Ka-kit has signed a deal with Kazakh authorities to advance a range of green energy projects in the Central Asian country.

The cooperation was sealed on Tuesday and announced on Wednesday during Lee’s visit to Kazakhstan and his meeting with Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, following a visit to Central Asia by a delegation led by Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu in June.

The deal is among the first signed in the two months since the city leader’s visit to the region.

Under the memorandum of understanding (MOU), signed with the Alatau City Authority and Kazakhstan’s ministries of energy, agriculture and transport, the government bodies will support Full Vision Capital’s pilot project by identifying suitable sites and local partners, conducting feasibility studies and helping to ease regulatory approvals.

The agreement covers sustainable aviation fuel production, smart energy solutions and advanced energy storage technologies, the family office said.

Bektenov said Kazakhstan was committed to advancing its green energy transition and regarded Full Vision Capital as a strategic partner in this field.
