Two diners at an all-you-can-eat hotpot restaurant in Hong Kong have been caught trying to sneak fresh seafood, beef and instant noodles into bags to take home, prompting staff to intervene.

A video clip circulating on social media on Saturday shows an employee at the restaurant in Tsuen Wan approaching a man and woman to ask if they had put uncooked materials into their backpack.
“Please take them out, for the sake of food safety,” the waiter says, explaining that all uncooked food must be served on-site and should not be taken away.
“It’s fine to grab food as long as you can eat it here. Don’t worry, we still have plenty of time.”
The clip also shows that the pair’s table was already laden with dishes of food when the restaurant employee approached the two diners.

The male diner at first denies having bagged up uncooked food, but a moment later, he takes out a ziplock bag of fresh seafood that includes shrimp and oysters.
