Singapore Airlines’ budget arm Scoot on Sunday confirmed the incident took place on flight TR939, which departed from Hong Kong International Airport for the city state at 5.49pm the day before.
A spokesman said that an overheated power bank had caused a small flame in the cabin, which was “promptly extinguished” by its cabin crew.
“All passengers and crew disembarked normally after the aircraft landed uneventfully in Singapore at 9.06pm,” he said, adding airport emergency services were on standby upon the plane’s arrival in Singapore.
“Scoot sincerely apologises for the disruption and inconvenience caused. The safety of our customers and crew remains our top priority.”

A 10-second video posted on Chinese social media RedNote showed a few flight attendants clustered together, surrounding an item on the cabin floor and subsequently putting it into a bag.
