Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on July 7 presented U.S. President Donald Trump with a letter nominating the president for the Nobel Peace Prize during a meeting at the White House.
Netanyahu was at the White House for talks with Trump on the Middle East situation, including efforts to achieve peace with Iran and secure a cease-fire deal to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
“He’s forging peace, as we speak, in one country, in one region after the other,” the Israeli leader said as he handed the letter to Trump. “So I want to present to you, Mr. President, the letter I sent to the Nobel Prize committee.
