A source said on Monday that the pair were found on Friday, adding that 12-year-old Theo Tong Mang-shun showed no signs of injuries and was being looked after by his grandmother.
“The father took his son for a trip to Shenzhen in mainland China. [They have] now been found, and returned home,” the source said.
The insider said the case had been classified as “missing persons located”.
In a reply to the Post on Monday evening, police only said the pair had been located in mainland China.

In a public appeal last Thursday, the force said that Tong Kin, 49, and his son were seen along Hung Hom’s Po Loi Street on August 11 before their disappearance. Their family filed a missing-person report on August 19.
