A man has died after collapsing from suspected heatstroke in Hong Kong during a dragon boat practice session in Tseung Kwan O amid very hot weather.

Police said they received a report at about 12.50pm on Sunday that a person had collapsed at Tiu Keng Leng Pier while practising dragon boating.
Witnesses at the scene said the man, who appeared to be middle-aged, became dizzy and unwell during the practice.
His fellow racers brought their boat back to shore, carried him onto the pier, then administered first aid while calling emergency services.
The unconscious man was taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Hong Kong Observatory issued a “very hot weather” warning at 6.45am on Sunday.
