Luxury Hong Kong project vendor fined for violating property sales rules

The seller of a luxury residential project in Hong Kong’s upmarket Mid-Levels West area was fined by the city’s real estate watchdog for violating rules relating to the sale of new property following a court ruling.

The Sales of First-hand Residential Properties Authority (SRPA) on Tuesday penalised Win Extra, the vendor of the Pokfulam Peak project, HK$26,000 (US$3,345) for falling afoul of the Residential Properties (First-hand Sales) Ordinance.

Win Extra, a subsidiary of Vantage International Holdings, pleaded guilty and was convicted in the Kwun Tong Magistrates’ Courts on Tuesday, the SRPA said in a statement.

Win Extra was charged with three counts of offence, the SRPA said.

It failed to include in the sale and purchase agreement the provisions set out in schedule 7 of the Residential Properties (First-hand Sales) Ordinance.
