Shum is currently a chartered fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong, possessing more than 30 years of managerial experience in various industries in the city and the Asia-Pacific region, including the Airport Authority.

She is the deputy executive director of the Vocational Training Council, responsible for formulating the mainland Chinese and international development strategy.

“Shum is well-versed in the mission, governance and operations of statutory bodies, with exceptional leadership abilities in strategic development, regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, both on mainland and international affairs,” council chairman Clement Chan Kam-wing said as he announced Shum’s appointment on Thursday.
