Lawmakers Urge Trump Admin to Back Falun Gong Lawsuit Against Cisco

WASHINGTON—Two prominent Republican lawmakers are calling on the Trump administration to side with a lawsuit accusing Cisco of aiding a brutal persecution in China.
In a letter dated Oct. 29, Chairman of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China Chris Smith (R-N.J.) and Chairman of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) John Moolenaar (R-Mich.) urged the administration to press the Supreme Court so the case could go to trial.
Practitioners of Falun Gong filed the case in 2011, alleging that the California tech giant has contributed in no small part to designing and building China’s vast surveillance network, exacerbating the sweeping eradication campaign that the regime launched against the spiritual group in 1999….
