The Department of Homeland Security blasted Kardashian over recent comments she made about US President Donald Trump’s crackdown on immigration, specifically the ongoing ICE raids that have pushed deportation numbers to nearly 200,000 since Trump’s takeover in January.

“In the news you hear, ‘Oh, it’s about people who have committed these crimes and [ICE is] trying to help out our country,’” Kardashian told reporters on Thursday night.

“But then you hear about all of the people who have worked so hard to build our country, and so many people that are such a part of our country getting affected,” she continued. “People I know. People my friends know.”

The 44-year-old reality star was in Venice, Italy, when she expressed her dismay over the current state of affairs. She was there to accept the Diane von Furstenberg Leadership Award, which recognised her work as a criminal justice advocate.
