Renowned Japanese competitive eating influencer Yuka Kinoshita made a comeback after disappearing from social media for months, blaming online bullying.

On August 24, seven months after she stopped posting online, Kinoshita wrote on X social media platform that she was slowly recovering from serious depression, and would gradually restart her career when she felt able.
She said she was afraid to look at her social media messages, public or private, because of mental health issues triggered by the upsetting comments she had received previously.
She also developed a fear of socialising in person, so she stayed indoors for months.
Kinoshita is one of the world’s most famous “big stomach” influencers from Japan. The phrase often refers to professional competitive eaters because they seem to have bottomless stomachs.
