Hong Kong authorities have ordered the developer of One Stanley to inspect eight more homes, including one acquired by a Mongolian mining tycoon’s family, as concerns over substandard work at the seaside luxury estate mount.
The details of the inspection were contained in a sales brochure updated by developer K&K Property on Friday and follow an announcement by the Buildings Department last month that it would conduct random checks on buildings at the estate.
Online property news platform WuChatProp earlier reported that insufficient steel bars had been used in parts of detached house No 35.
According to the updated brochure, the department had spotted irregularities in the house, including the absence of wire mesh on the concrete cover of a ground-floor beam, as required by the approved plan, and deviations in the steel reinforcement of some slabs.
