Huawei’s Triple-Fold Phone Is a Joke: Obscures Entire Head When Calling, Tech May Be Stolen

On September 10th, Huawei launched its first triple-fold phone, the Mate XT Extraordinary Master, which excited many patriotic ‘little pinks.’ However, this phone soon became the subject of various online jokes. People said it could cover your face while making calls or that holding it feels like carrying a brick. Others commented that it looked more like an imperial edict than a phone for everyday use. But among all the criticisms, one stood out as the most sarcastic.
On the evening of September 13th, Zhou Hongyi, founder and chairman of the 360 Group, posted a video on Weibo. In the video, he compared Huawei’s triple-fold Mate XT to the iPhone 16, saying Huawei’s hardware innovation was far ahead of Apple’s. He added, “Whether you’re pretending to make a call to hide your awkwardness or using it to cover your instant noodles, Huawei’s phone is more useful.”
