The closure of Oriental Trading Company Hong Kong Limited came to light in a social media post from reseller Tai Fook Hong, which revealed the goods were being stored at a warehouse and sold to the highest bidders.

“Original boxes [of toys] up for wholesale clearance. A great sale! A giant toy warehouse in Tuen Mun now has more than 100,000 products that include over 400 types of toys – all brand new,” it said.

A Tai Fook Hong employee who only gave his surname as Lau told the Post on Thursday that nearly all the products in the warehouse had come from the toy giant, noting competition from other bidders had driven up prices for some of the goods.

He did not disclose how many of the toys had been bought by Tai Fook Hong from the warehouse.
