A spokesman from HK Electric, which serves Hong Kong Island and Lamma Island, said an 11-kilovolt high-voltage cable was likely to have been damaged by a third-party construction project at around 2.35pm on Tuesday.
“This incident affected several substations on Repulse Bay Road, cutting off power to over 200 customers in the area,” he said.
The power company added that it dispatched engineers to the scene and also sent a mobile generator vehicle to help restore power as quickly as possible.
