Hong Kong veteran actor ‘Benz Hung’ Hui Shiu-hung dies at age 76

Hong Kong veteran actor “Benz Hung” Hui Shiu-hung has died at the age of 76 from complications arising from cancer.

TV host Luisa Maria Leitao, a close friend of the actor, revealed on Tuesday that Hui had died at Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital at 2.30am due to “multiple organ failure caused by cancer”.

“Hui was surrounded by his many family and friends. His family expressed gratitude to his friends – both those who visited him in hospital and those who called from abroad to check on him,” she said in a statement.

“His family will handle the funeral arrangements and will make a public announcement later.”

Actor Chow Yun-fat, comedian Dayo Wong Tze-wah and Hui’s colleagues from TVB were among those who visited Hui and his family at the hospital on Monday and Tuesday.
