Hong Kong’s Immigration Department is assisting the family of a 16-year-old resident who reportedly died while climbing a snow-covered mountain in Sichuan province in mainland China.

An image circulating online believed to show an official bulletin from the Mount Siguniang Scenic Area Administration said the victim was a Hong Kong resident living in Shenzhen in Guangdong province.
His parents registered him on Saturday for an outdoor activity organised by a travel agency and provided a letter of authorisation.
Registration was completed the following day at the Mount Siguniang outdoor activity management centre, and the group set out for Haizigou
At around 8am on Monday, Chow was reportedly on a slope on the 5,276-metre (17,310-foot) Second Peak when he slid and went missing. He was believed to be suffering leg fatigue at the time.
His body was recovered by rescuers at about 12.40pm, according to the statement and local media
